Welcome to ThormacEV
If you are here, you probably already think that electric car technology is something worth looking into. We believe that pure-electric cars are the Proper way to go:
- Hybrid cars
- Must have and maintain a traditional internal combustion engine
- Have battery packs that are too small to make a real difference on or off road
- Because of the above, they force you into accepting a compromise that almost always means the performance is not equivalent.
- Plug-in Hybrid cars
- Still have an internal combustion enegine that must be maintained; if you do not use an internal combustion engine often, it will have maintenance issues (gas goes bad, condensation forms on the inside, etc.)

- Fuel-Cell cars
- Hyrdrogen is made from Natural Gas because electrolysis has terrible efficiencies
- Are already electric at heart -- at this point in the technology curve, why bother with converting to Hydrogen, and then converting the hydrogen back to Electricity?
There are many objections to electric cars, but most can be solved with technology and engineering discipline:
Electric Cars
- Are less efficient than internal combustion engines when you add in power transmission costs
- False. See the myriad of Tesla Motor's articles on the subject.
- Are less comfortable than "normal cars"
- That is because people cut corners to save on costs; if you are trying to build a Lexus on a Yugo budget, you will not succeed. ThormacEV cars maintain all of the accoutrements of the originals, and our flagship cars have been selected to provide the Car Experience that we have come to expect from these models.
- Have less performance than "normal cars"
- You can see the Tesla Roadster, KillaCycle, and others to debunk this; electric performance is different than a gas engine, but it is most excellent. The Hybrid cars are limited in electric performance because they have chosen to compromise performance in order to stay "conventional."
We do not compromise when it comes to performance.

- No one has ever gotten laid in an electric car - Clint Eastwood on the David Letterman show
- I think you will be pleasantly surprised by our Porsche Boxster (though I would recommend a hood-side affair as it is quite cramped in the interior (like most boxsters).

- Are too expensive
- They are more expensive than their gasoline counterparts (primarily because the battery technology is expensive, but that, like most other technologies, is improving rapidly. ThormacEV cars will take adantage of the most useful battery technology available (currently, it is LiFePO4, but we will look at NiFe batteries and EEStor supercapacitors as they become available).
"Too Expensive" is quite a vague term. We already expect to pay quite a bit more for performance and/or luxury; why should the ability to divorce ourselves from oil be any different? An electric vehicle is no more and no less than a way to power your transportation with any fuel you desire to use, instead of being limited to what the engine manufacaturer has chosen.
